Entry #4: Final thoughts on Blogging.

Blogging was fun! I never thought I would say that. When I first started blogging for English 101, blog entries were not something I looked forward to. And it still isn't, but as I started t
o post more and more, I started to enjoy expressing myself to the internet world. I took blogs very seriously. I tried to express myself as vividly as I could. I talked about things that grabbed my attention and focused on things that I liked so I wouldn't bore myself on my own blog. (ha-ha).. I learned that it's pretty fun to blog! And it's quite simple. One
can talk about whatever they choose to, sit back, and enjoy the reactions of fellow readers.
At first, blogging seemed like the biggest waste of time, but not anymore. It was fun and I will use this experience in the future if I ever want to start a casual blog later on.
I personally enjoyed the blogging experience and I recommend using it for future classes.

Entry #3 Self Topic: What would YOU do?

I discovered a show about a month ago that has been playing on ABC 15 for quite a while. It's called "What would you do?" There are actors hired that go to normal settings, like cafes, stores, etc. and act out controversial issues in public to analyze the reactions of fellow observers. Hidden cameras are placed all over the setting and captures every move! The first video I saw was on a young girl who stuttered. My favorite one is one of a homeless man who goes into a restaurant to have some food and gets insulted by a worker.  It's really inspiring to watch this show. As the man gets insulted, he doesn't get angry or moody at the worker. Instead, he humbly sits there. It's heartbreaking to see some of the negative reactions by the customers. I think that if one doesn't have something positive to say, one shouldn't speak at all.

So... what would you do if you were in this position?  

Entry #3: Food, Inc.

After I watched this documentary, I had a lot of thoughts on my mind! Even though I have seen it once before in a class, I was just as surprised this time as I was the first. It absolutely disgusts me to know that animals are treated in such poor ways. Even though I eat meat, I do not agree with the farming methods that big businesses are forcing farmers to use. Farming can no longer be called "farming" anymore.
It is not fresh food being delivered to the markets. The food is artificial. The chickens are so heavy that they can't bear their own weight. The cows have bacteria growing inside them due to the poor diet of corn in order to reduce costs.
I do not like the idea of corn being in multiple foods. It isn't a very healthy item when it's turned  into high fructose corn syrup. Corn is being used in unnecessary ways. I think that the government is ridiculous for letting this take place. The fact that the same government officials who work for organizations like the FDA work for big-business companies like Monsanto, scares me. The one part in Food, Inc. that got to me was when seed cleaner, Moe, was taken to court for cleaning his own seeds. How pathetic was that? Businesses who are abusing their power should be given warnings from the government.
I think that Americans have the right to know what they're eating. There should be labels regarding cloned animals. There should be information given out to us, the public, as to what exactly we are putting into our bodies.
Overall, I think that the documentary was very informative and kept me interested the whole time!

Entry #2 Self Topic: Time is Flying!

Personally, I hated high school. In high school, we were all forced into taking classes we didn't want to take. And there's no escaping those requirements needed to get out by the end of senior year! I sat in P.E. class after P.E. class in elementary not caring one bit about exercising or playing sports. By the time I got to high school, I thought I was done with P.E... but I was wrong. I never understood why P.E. was a requirement in high school. How will any of the things I learned in there help me for my future? I will never come to know. Anyways, by the end of sophomore year, I was SO done with high school. I decided to zoom out fast by taking extra credits online. Now that I graduated and am taking classes which will benefit me in the future, I feel as if I am on the right path!

A few days after graduation, I ran into this video while I was surfing through Facebook. It made me stop and rethink my choice! I am starting to realize that life is kicking in.. and quick!

Entry #2: Media Quest.

I found a really interesting video a few days ago! It was about a man who made a saw that will stop rotating if human flesh comes in contact with it. People have accidents when working with dangerous machines all the time! Especially with fast machines like saws! Many people have gotten body parts chopped off in seconds and regretted it. I think this man has created something that many people will appreciate in the future. I think I trust this guy so much because he demonstrated with his own finger! I probably would not do that... only because I like having my fingers attached to my hands. I hope this machine goes on to helping many who work with wood in the future.
And OF COURSE, I have to talk about computers whilst writing on technology. My computer/laptop is always on. I use it all the time. So for me, I think the mini tablets and phones are awesome! I think that portable computers are just the perfect invention for everyone using the computer.

Entry #1 Self Topic: Facebook!

I am a big fan of Facebook! One can see me on Facebook many times during the day. I've been on Facebook for a few years now and I've noticed that it has changed a lot since my first year. And it's not only Facebook, it's most of the social networking sites, in general. A social networking site, for me, has always been a place to share my thoughts and feelings as well as read the thoughts of others and meet new people. As far as meaningful posts go, the things that people post on the social sites these days have nothing to do with their personalities. There are more pictures than words. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like these kinds of networking sites are overused in today's society. 

Entry #1: Variety of Blogs.

Blogs are really fun! Writing a blog is a unique way to express one's personality and interests to the public. It's a creative way to receive an array of responses and reactions from distinct readers. I personally love writing blogs! As a blogger, I feel very flexible on the topics I choose to write about. I read three blogs today on the web as I was browsing around.
One of the blogs I read was the Google Blog. I wasn't a big fan of this one. It's basically all white with a very small splash of color here and there. It didn't grab my attention straight away like I would've preferred. It did have a lot of information included, however.

The second blog I read was Cupcakes and Cashmere. I really liked this one! It was filled with color and pictures. The fonts are different sizes and there are many links to check out as well. It was a fun topic as well! 

The last blog I checked out today was the Whole Foods Market Blog. This one is my most favorite out of all three of the blogs I looked at today. I love looking at food websites. I like to read recipes and look at pictures. This website had all of that information. It had bright colors and fun fonts. It had many links to click on and lots of detail.
